PurO3 Oils

Initial Thoughts of purO3

My first thoughts on the product was the scent of the oils. The Oils smell almost like after it rains. I love it! It smells like a spa. However if it does bother you, their oils come in a few different scents! Their scents include vanilla, lavender, and unscented. They also have a flavors for their oral care line including peppermint, peppermint Stevia, cherry Stevia, or unflavored.

In package I received coconut, jojoba and olive all unscented in three large glass containers. Next I received twelve small testers in: jojoba in unscented vanilla, and lavender; coconut in unscented, vanilla, and lavender; avocado in unscented; olive in unscented and lavender; hemp in unscented; castor in unscented; and sunflower in unscented along with three tooth and gum samples.

PurO3 Oils

Packaging

Their sample packaging includes 15 small glass jars that are each color coded depending on the fragrance of the product. They are capped off with a plastic twist top. The three larger jars are also glass and are topped off with an aluminum twist top. For the larger three jars they added a cooling bag for shipment and bubble wrap! I suggest putting the oils in refrigerator that has the cooling packets with them. I put mine in refrigerator and it feels so nice putting cooled oils on my sunburned skin!

SUPERIOR OZONATED OILS

There are currently 7 different oils that purO3 offers. Each offer their own healing property.

Organic coconut oIl emollient

This oil is amazing for moisturizing your skin to the max and for massages.

Organic hemp oiL gel

Hemp oil is useful to soothe minor skin irritations, clear blemishes on the skin and reduce the itching from bug bites.

Organic AVOCADO oil

This oil is good for helping inflammation with its anti-inflammatory property and helps to relieve pain with its analgesic (pain relieving) property.

Organic jojoba oil cream

This oil is good for sensitive skin and everyday use to keep skin looking radiant.

Organic Castor oil

This oil is great to use on infections since it has anti-fungal, antiviral, and antibacterial properties! What more could you ask for in one oil?

Organic SunfloweR oil salve

This oil is good for cell regeneration and contains Vitamin E.

Organic Olive oil salve

This oil is not only used in cooking but, also on your skin! However, I still recommend buying the organic oil saturated with O3 instead of going to your kitchen! hehe

purO3

Tooth and Gum Support Product

PurO3 offers organic oral care! The organic hemp and olive oil are flavored as peppermint, peppermint stevia, unflavored, and cherry stevia as mentioned previously. I had no idea that using oils with oral care was a thing but I read in the purO3 brochure that the Ozone is being used for dental care more and more now a days. When was the last time you went to the dentist?!

Bug Bite Relief Products

This product is outstanding to be in an oil form! As all the other products produced by purO3, this product is oxygen activated. The ingredients include: olive, hemp, sunflower, avocado, rosemary, and clove oil.

Conclusion of purO3

The oils are not your average oils! These products come from oils ranging from gels, salve, creams, and emollients! The one con I found was with the packaging. It would be cool to see the small containers in a cute bag to put them in or holder. I highly suggest getting the samples! Getting the sample size is enough oil to use on your skin and figure out which ones you like the most!

I’m so grateful for when they arrived that I could use it to help my sunburn! I only use the best products on my skin, and I’ve been freaking out about peeling! I did not peel once by using their jojoba, coconut oil and olive oil. When you look at the picture you can tell by how red my skin currently is, I definitely should have, and normally would have peeled in the past. This picture is from Day Two of being sun burnt, so glad to be moisturizing my skin!:

Healthy Food Swaps for Ice Cream

Healthy Food Swaps for Ice cream

I tell you it’s really tempting to dive into ice cream for dinner everyday for me so I have figured out some healthy food swaps that will allow me to be healthier when I am craving something cold and sweet. Here’s my favorite list of treats!

Frozen Mango and Pineapple Ice Cream Swap

Frozen Mango and Pineapple

I loved these two paired together! Frozen Mango and pineapple will be one of my favorite snacks for the rest of my life. I like the frozen mango by itself even too! I can not believe I had not tried it sooner. Look how the yellow colors pop!

Frozen Strawberries and Blueberries Ice Cream Food Swap

Frozen Blueberries and Strawberries

Frozen plain Blueberries are delicious! They taste amazing and I love how small they are. Also, its nice to have frozen blueberries to food swap cravings such as blueberry muffins! I was not a fan of the frozen strawberries as much as I have enjoyed the mango, pineapple, and blueberries, however I may try some different brands. One problem I thought of was that the Strawberries may have not had enough natural sugar in them to make them taste sweet.

Frozen Banana Ice Cream Swap

Frozen Bananas Ice Cream

This will really amaze you on how similar this is to ice cream! The texture alone is shocking and the taste is on point. You can also flavor it with flavors like peppermint. To make this follow the directions below:

You will need:

1 banana per cup of ice cream

How to make Banana Ice Cream:
  1. Peel the bananas
  2. Cut the bananas up
  3. Place the pieces into a bowl and leave in the freezer for 3 hours
  4. Take frozen banana pieces and put them into a blender
  5. Mix until the bananas have an ice cream texture
  6. Enjoy!

How to Transfer Photographs to Canvas for a Vision Board

Vision Board

A vision board is a photographic way to show your goals and dreams. I learned about it in college while taking my entrepreneurship classes. It’s highly motivating and allows your to visualize your goals just as the name suggests.

Note: this post contains affiliate links. This means that I may receive a small commission (at no cost to you) if you subscribe or purchase something through the links provided. You will never see me post a link to a product or service that I don’t use myself or truly love!

Canvas Medium for Vision Board

Pick Your Medium

For my medium, I have chosen tiny 6″ x 6″ by 1.5″ deep canvas that I will align on my wall to mimic an Instagram feed. I encourage you to get creative with your medium! Some suggestions and ideas include but are not limited to: collage on cork board or poster paper, a digital background on your computer with photos and empowering words, collection of items that you hang or put in shadow boxes, and the list goes on. You don’t have to stick with the traditional poster board and magazine picture cut outs. Your vision board is an outlet for you to spark your creativity and inspiration to chase your dreams.

Make a List of Your Goals

Making a list for your vision board should encompass all of your goals that you want to achieve in the future. Whether those goals are personal, financial, or materialistic find the best photos to represent them. I suggest getting on Pinterest and making a board to start gathering photographs together. The following is an example of what I have on my vision board. I chose the following nine goals because Instagram goes by three’s, however you can have as many items on your list as you like.

  1. Super Yatch
  2. Pool
  3. Home Theater
  4. Salt Water Aquarium
  5. Mini Mansion
  6. Fancy Car
  7. Home Gym Room
  8. Home Yoga Room
  9. Travel Locations

Materials

This project cost me about $30 to make!

  1. 6 x 6 x 1.5 Canvas or Poster Board, etc.
  2. Mod Podge photo transfer Medium
  3. Foam Brush
  4. Lazer Printed Photographs on Regular Paper
  5. Scissors
  6. Small bowl of water
  7. Kitchen Towel
  8. Mod Podge Finish

Step 1: Prep the Photographs

You will want to cut the photographs to the size of the canvas or print them exactly to size. You will also need to print these photos with a lazer printer on regular printer paper (not photograph paper). I went to my local library to printer my photos out. If you want to have the exact image you will need to photoshop it to be flipped, especially if there are words on the image. In the example above you can see I have flipped the words “hustle, baby”.

Step 2: Apply Photo Transfer Medium to Blank Canvas

The first step is to apply the photo transfer medium evenly to the blank canvas covering the entire canvas surface. I would suggest adding double the amount shown. I felt that when I added more transfer Medium that the photo was less susceptible to getting holes.

Step 3: Add the Photo

To apply the photograph to the canvas, flip it up side down with the white side of the paper facing up and make sure that it is aligned correctly before pressing and smoothing it out on the canvas. You can smooth it out with your fingers but I suggest using something like a pen put on its side or credit card to help you smooth the photograph out.

Step 4: Let it Sit Overnight

You will need to let the canvas sit over night in order for the transfer to process. This will give it enough time to fully dry. I would even suggest letting it dry for two days.

Step 5: Apply Water and Gently Rub

Next you will want to take water and slightly dampen the canvas. This will allow you to gently rub off the excess printer paper. I suggest being very gentle when rubbing off the printer paper. You should slowly add more water as needed to rub the paper off. This process will take a while to do correctly and to not harm your photograph. To help remove the paper from the canvas, you can also use a wet cloth to help wipe away the remaining pieces.

Step 6: Finish with Mod Podge

This step is optional, but I finished my vision board canvases with mod podge to help protect the photo and make it easier to clean off dust later on. I also found that this step helped to prevent the dry paper from showing up on the photo if there were any very tiny pieces left. I fully removed any hanging pieces of paper and wet the picture while adding modge podge evenly over the photo.

Step 7: Ready to Hang

As I mentioned, I wanted my vision board to look like an Instagram feed. To achieve this look, I hung my pictures in rows of three by three columns. I positioned them about an inch and a half apart from each other all around. I hung mine next to my home office desk so that I can look at it whenever I feel burnt out and it picks me right back up!

Conclusion

This project was fun but there were some pro’s and con’s. One of the biggest problems I ran into was that I had to redo six of my photos! They developed too many holes from rubbing the paper off. If you do have to remove the lazer ink from the canvas, do the following. Apply baking soda and water together to make a paste and then let it sit on the ink. It will wipe and scratch away with ease. I was expecting it to transfer perfectly but it is still a cool project. I hope to find a better method in the future for transferring photos to canvas!

What do you have listed out for your vision board and what medium did you or would you use?! Leave your answers in the comments below!

Initial thoughts oN “I LOVE LONG ROMANTIC WALKS DOWN EVERY AISLE AT TARGET” MuG

As always, I’m always super excited to open up sponsored gifts to review for my blog and help spread the word of cool businesses! The packaging caught my eye very quickly as I will explain next. I noticed a lot of attention to detail in this product packaging from adding plastic wrapping and a bow on the cup as well making it easy to give as a gift to someone as is or filled with goodies and tied back up again. A lot of thought went into this product.

Gifts by Daisy
PACKAGING

If you’ve been following my blog for a while now you know that I love all aspects of marketing! I’m always thrilled to see when companies put their logo on the outside of a box and have amazing and creative packaging. It’s a perfect way to reach anyone who has held this box or seen it outside the customer’s door step. The extra paper confetti on the inside made it really fun to open up!

Handled with Care

I was also highly impressed by the way this glass mug was packaged. It had the paper confetti, bubble wrap, and then air bag around the mug that was in a separate box from the original cardboard box. They finished it off with a cute little purchase order with a thank you at the bottom of it that has matching colors with their logo.

Gifts by Daisy
PRINT

This mug is printed with “I love long romantic walks down every aisle at Target” on both sides. This phrase comes in two designs. The one that was sent to me and also this coffee mug here. The second design has more cursive and is a little more chic than the design I chose. I chose the design that I did because I thought the handwriting was very neat and tidy. I highly recommend both!

Size

Daisy and Décor coffee mugs come in two different sizes. The mug I received is 15 fl. oz. and they also offer a 11 fl. 0z size.

Daisy and Decor Coffee Mug

VIIcode Oxygen Eye Mask

Intial Thoughts of VIIcode Oxygen Eye Mask

My first thoughts on the product was how much I love their very professional silver packaging. I like the creativity of the picture tearing away wrinkles in the box photograph. I immediately liked how the gel of the eye masks felt on my skin. The cooling sensation is so relaxing to me that it helps me fall asleep!

Packaging

Their packaging box came with individual slits for the aluminum packets. I love the shiny silver packaging for the eyemasks! Inside the pouch is a plastic holder for the eye masks. Attached to the back of each mask is a piece of plastic to help keep the gel fresh.

Gel-Material

This VIIcode Oxygen Eye Mask is made out of a Gel-like material. It goes on your eyes cool and smells slightly like pine-cones and peppermint which I enjoyed. The eye pads are made in Germany and the Gel Efficacy is made in USA.

Ingredients

Glycerin: Also called glycerol or glycerine, glycerin is present in all natural lipids (fats), whether animal or vegetable. It can be derived from natural substances by hydrolysis of fats and by fermentation of sugars; it also can be synthetically manufactured. Glycerin is a skin-replenishing and restoring ingredient, meaning it is a substance found naturally in skin. In that respect it is one of the many substances in skin that helps maintain a healthy look and feel, defending against dryness. When combined with other ingredients it can be excellent for helping replenish skin.

Carbomer: Group of synthetic texture enhancers used primarily to create gel-like formulations.

Cellulose: Primary fiber component of plants. Used in cosmetics as a thickening agent and to bind other ingredients together.

Tetrasodium EDTA: Chelating agent used to prevent minerals present in formulations from bonding to other ingredients

Allantoin: By-product of uric acid extracted from urea and considered an effective skin-soothing and skin-conditioning agent. Allantoin occurs naturally in the body. It can be extracted from plants (comfrey, chamomile) or made synthetically—the most common method for inclusion in cosmetics where it’s used in concentrations upwards of 2%.

Aloe Barbadensis:  Aloe vera (also listed by its Latin name of aloe barbadenis) is a commonly used plant extract that has soothing properties, antioxidant qualities, and serves as a hydrating agent for skin due to its polysaccharide and sterol content.

Lavandula Angustifolia: Widely used plant that’s a member of the mint family. May be listed by its Latin names Lavandula angustifolia or Lavandula officinalis. Primarily a fragrance ingredient, it may have beneficial properties for skin but is also a potential sensitizer due to its fragrance components.

Methlparaben:  Categorized in the group of preservatives.

Propylparaben: Categorized in the group of preservatives.

SmartQ10 Aqua: ingridient special to this product. Information not found online. Will update when found.

Algin: In cosmetics, algae act as thickening agents, water-binding agents, antioxidants, and possible skin sensitizers. Some forms of algae contain proteins, vitamin A, sugar, starch, vitamin B1, iron, sodium, phosphorus, magnesium, copper, and calcium. Most of these are beneficial for skin, as emollients, soothing agents, or antioxidants. Some can even be helpful for improving the appearance of aging skin.

Cellulose Gum: Any of various fibrous substances derived from plants. Cellulose gum is a natural ingredient that is most often used as a thickener but also used as a film-forming agent.

Citric Acid: Extract derived from citrus fruits and used primarily in small amounts to adjust the pH of products to prevent them from being too alkaline. Also, Citric Acid can help exfoliate skin.

Sodium PCA: Natural component of skin, PCA (pyrrolidone carboxylic acid) is also a very good hydrating agent and skin-replenishing ingredient.

Butylene Glycol:  Commonly-used ingredient that has multiple functions in cosmetics, including as a texture enhancer.

y-PGA: ingridient special to this product. Information not found online. Will update when found.

Sodium Hyaluronate: Salt form of skin-replenishing ingredient hyaluronic acid.

Vitamin E:  Vitamin E occurs naturally in human skin, but can become depleted due to constant environmental exposure in the absence of sun protection.

Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate: Stable, water-soluble form of vitamin C that functions as an antioxidant and is potentially effective for brightening an uneven skin tone and can influence factors linked to breakouts.

Ethylbisiminomethylguaiacol Maganese Chloride: ingridient special to this product. Information not found online. Will update when found.

How to Apply

The following steps demonstrate how to apply the mask. The eye mask applies twice or three times a week and three boxes a course of treatment.

Step One

Open bag along the perforated cut and remove the eye mask from the aluminum bag.

Step Two

Peel off the plastic back and gently press the mask around your eye in order to help the nutrients to absorb into the skin.

Step Three

Keep mask on for no more than 8 hours, preferably overnight, to get full brightening and hydrating effects.

Step Four

Remove the Oxygen Eye Mask from your skin and dispose of the used mask.

Conclusion of VIIcode Oxygen Eye Mask

The eye masks go on very easily and stick to your skin very well at first. However, for me, they came off while I was sleeping sometime during the 8 hour period. Another small issue I had with the eye masks was that the cotton back irritated by eyes making them slightly itchy. Most noteworthy, I still really loved how they made my under eyes look the next day! Compared to other eye masks, this one is on the top of my list for getting rid of wrinkles and moisturizing. They have worked better than other masks because of the gel that they use and although they are expensive, they have a $2 sample that you can purchase on their site before you purchase a kit.

How to Purchase

VIIcode Oxygen Eye Mask sell for $55 and they offer free shipping and 100% satisfy guarantee. You can purchase it from the following link here or grab a sample for $2 here . Also, if you are not happy with your results than you can either get an exchange or refund.

How to Get Your Dream Job From Applying to Accepting

How to Get Your Dream Job

The Dream

What defines your dream job? Maybe it’s working for yourself or maybe you’ve dreamed of working for a company like Google who has an amazing culture or a cutting edge company like Tesla. Whatever company you are looking to pursue, this article has the tools for you to succeed!

How to Get Your Dream Job

The Application Process

Applying to Company Website

Apply directly to your dream job’s company website instead of using third party sites. This allows you to be directly in their database and helps you skip a step since they will require that you enter in your information before offering you the position.

Internal Referrals

Internal Referrals are a great way to get your foot in the door! Search around your college friend’s linkedin profiles and see where they are working. Write them an email expressing how you would like to work at their company and ask if they could give you an internal referral.

Recruiting Companies

If you are not opposed to the idea of being a contractor, reach out to a recruiting company. They will have established contacts at big name companies that you can leverage to get an interview. It might just be a short six month contract but, by having the experience and a name brand company on your resume it will only get easier to get where you want to go.

LinkedIn

Create a LinkedIn account and completely fill out your profile. Of course, be sure to follow your dream company on all social medias as well as LinkedIn. Research employees that work at your dream job on LinkedIn and spark up a conversation with a few people about how they enjoy working for the company. You could also ask about their daily tasks and company events.  Eventually ask for any recruitment contacts they would be willing to share with you. After you receive contact information for the recruiter, send an email with your resume attached and explain why it’s your dream job.

Resume and Self Promotion

Traditional or Modern Resume

The first step of a resume is to chose if you are going to do a traditional resume or a modern resume. A modern resume cultivates creativity and outside the box thinking. This could include designing an info-graphic (I use canva.com) or printing your resume on a medium other than paper like a folder, pamphlet, or something the recruiter can use like a notebook.

Resume Page Length

Some believe you should have multiple pages, but I personally think you should fit it on one page and discuss other information during the interview when appropriate or add it in the cover letter. Clearances only cover the last ten years so I feel it’s safe to include only the last 10 years or last three positions you have held on your resume so that it can all fit on the page and is recent and relevant.

Information to Include on Resume:
  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone Number
  • Computer Skills
  • Projects Experience
  • Last Three Jobs Experience
  • Community Service and Clubs
Text Based Resume

Cover Letter

Email Address

You will need a professional email address that displays your name.  You should not continue to use your school email since it could possibly be closed or shut down after graduation. A school email also could make you appear as if you are entry level and is not as easy to remember as your name at gmail.  This step is important because it one of many ways will be communicating with the recruiter. An example of a good email would be as follows: FirstnameLastname@gmail.com.

Email Signature Example

 Email Signature

For my email signature, as shown above, I coded it in HTML myself. However, there are many websites and services out there that are free or paid that you can utilize. I charge $10 for signatures, email me at kitstanwood@gmail.com.

What to include in an email signature:
  • Name
  • Position Title
  • Phone Number
  • Website
  • Social Medias

Personal Business Card

Information to Include on Personal Business Card:
  • Name
  • Email
  • Phone Number
  • Social Medias (LinkedIn)
  • Website Link

I ordered my high quality business cards with a smooth finish, rounded corners, and glossy text from Moo.com . Use my referral link for a discount on your first order : Moo Business Cards

Paperclip

Having a paperclip that’s in the shape of the company your applying to shows your invested, in the shape of your hobbies shows your personality, or one in the shape of a pet sparks possible conversation. If you do not have a particular company you are trying to work for, you could  find a paperclip for the position genre your applying for or field of work your interested in. For example, a computer paper clip for a technology position would be easy to use across many interviews. I suggest paper clipping your personal business card to your resume and handing it to your recruiter when you first sit down for the interview. You can grab these super cute barkclips here.

Website or Blog

You should start a blog, especially if your in between jobs or unemployed. It’s a great at way to give yourself a topic of discussion around what you have been doing with your time off. Most noteworthy, you can monetize your website or blog!! Having something to do and show for your unemployment time is priceless and will boost your confidence. Another great reason to have a blog, even if your employed, is that you create an “About Me” page where your interviewer can read more information about you such as hobbies, writing samples, technical skills, and of course adorable pictures of your pet.

Steps to Get your blog started

1. Domain Name

I use to use google domains but  Bluehost offers a free main name.

2. Hosting

Hosting your own websites this allows you to own all your own content without worrying about sites such as blogger or WordPress shutting your site down or using your content since they own it. Since they host your website for free they own your content and have rules against what you can post. Use my referral link for a special price for hosting Bluehost.com/track/kit Stanwood/ .

3. Create wordPress Account and Download WordPress

Create your WordPress account here and download WordPress from the following link here.

4. Pick a Template

WordPress has many free or paid templates you can choose from! I currently use a free layout at the time of writing this post, but I have plans to code my own site. If you are adventurous and want to learn HTML, I recommend going through freecodecamp.com. They are a non-profit online community that teaches you how to code in exchange for you working on projects for those in need.

 The Interview

Congratulations on getting an interview! If you haven’t made it that far yet go try the above tips again. You are halfway there as they say! So let’s dive in to the juicy details. Plain and simple, You HAVE to stand out. This advice will be tough but it works! You are unique and have your own strong skills to offer. I look at interviewing like dating, it’s a two way street and if you don’t like them, I would not recommend taking the job unless it’s a 10-20% increase in salary. At that point you might as well get the experience, money and make the best of it that you can.

Exercise

Exercise will help alleviate stress and anxiety before an interview. It is also shown to help you think better and leave you performing better at work in the long run

Appearance

Women

Tops and Blazer

Tops should cover you up and be accompanied by a matching blazer.

Bottoms

It is best to wear a knee length skirt or pleated pants with either black or nude color panty hose.

Dress

Dresses should be knee length and the straps should be at least four fingers wide.

Shoes

I always suggest wearing heels to an interview if you can walk in them well. They are dressier then flats, however if you are very tall or are afraid of tripping in your heels then a pair of nice flats are fine.

Jewelry

General rules for wearing jewelry to an interview is to wear no more than 5 pieces. I would suggest wearing a nice watch (Im sporting a wooden watch by JORD in the above picture), a pair of stud earrings, and a ring such as your class ring if you have recently graduated, wedding band, or a club ring.

Men

Suit

If you do not own a suit, a jacket and matching dress pants would also be acceptable. Lastly, to top the suit off wear a matching tie.

Dress Shoes

Dress shoes include loafers, derbie and brogues.

Extras

It’s great idea to dress up your suit with a Class Ring if you have recently graduated, Cufflinks, and a Watch.

Leather Binder

Having a Lather Binder helps you hold copies of your resume, personal business cards, company business cards you receive, and a place to keep notes. I would suggest getting one from the college from which you graduated.  As a side note, you should always have five up to date copies of your resume with you, a notepad, and a pen to be able to take notes.

Notes

Taking notes is just a part of being a professional. The rest of your life you should be taking notes no matter what you are doing if it includes talking about business. The first great reason to take notes at an interview is to document specifics about benefits. Then later when they offer you the job you can send them the notes and ask them to formally agree to what they said in the interview to include it in the offer letter.

Interview Questions to Ask

1. Don’t have Generalized Questions

Bad Example: What are the daily tasks of the Business Analyst job?

Good Example: After an employee has gathered requirements , logged requirements, and created mock-ups what other responsibilities does this position entail?

If you have scripted questions, I suggest tailoring them to be more specific. If you as a vague question you could get a vague answer in return. Every question should be related to the position you are interviewing for, be open ended and you should be able to give examples to explain your question further. In the above example, I have taken out some tasks that I already know the position gives from reading the job description. You can find the job description online on the company’s website or you can ask the recruiter to send one to you. One scripted question that I feel is the exception is: “What is your company culture?”. A company that plays together works well together and synergies together.

Coffee Lifecycle

2. Ask About the Work Environment

This is a topic to bring up non-nonchalantly after the interview if it has gone well. One way of bringing this up would be to ask to see their facility and hopefully the kitchen will be included in this tour or else you may want to ask.  If they don’t provide good coffee or a quality break rooms, one could imply the company is not concerned about their employee’s comfort. To throw in some humor: Good coffee includes having the sugar you like, a decent machine with at least three flavors to chose from, and most importantly having liquid half and half or some sort of creamer that is available. That powder creamer is wack!

3. Make a Connection

If you can make a cop laugh your chances of getting out of a ticket are probably twice as high compared to if you didnt make him laugh, right? So following my logic here, if you make an interviewer genuinely laugh your chances getting hired are astronomical.  Bottom line, people want to work with people who they can hang out with and converse with at work. They can always train you to do what they need you to do.

4. Do Your Research

  • Visit their website
  • Read their About them Page
  • Memorize what services they provide
  • Look up their mission statement
  • Reasearch what differentiates them

Thank you Letter

The last thing you should do and one of the most important is to write thank you letter or thank you email right after your interview. If you can leave a hand written letter with the secretary you will definitely stand out from those who have written an email and it will show that you have planned ahead. If you decide to go with an email, you should send it within 24 hours of being interviewed. I even like to send it an hour after the interview was held so that I do not forget about it and it also leaves a good feeling with the interviewer. The above graphic was created with canva.com.

Accepting the Offer

Give Your Two Week Notice

First things first, before you leave your current position it is common curtousy and professional to give your two week notice. This allows your current employee to find a replacement and for you to easily transfer duties smoothly. I suggest mentioning this in the interview as well and explain that you have to finish up any tasks that your in middle of before leaving. Most companies understand this and actually expect that you complete this professional process.

Topics to Consider Having in Writing in Your Offer:

  • Working Remote
  • Work Location
  • Work Schedule
  • Special Accommodations
  • Training

Negotiation Tips

Salary

Be prepared to negotiate salary. You can prepare by researching your position on the market through reliable websites such as glassdoor. This will help you set realistic expectations for yourself. Always ask for more salary than you actually want. It’s a professional strategy but more than likely you will meet in the middle.

Benefits

Extra benefits may include asking to be able to work from home one or two days a week. This is very reasonable if you have a long commute and you could not get the vacation time you desired.

DIY: Create Your Own Gold Glitter Word Cut Out Decoration

Word Cut Out Glitter Decoration DIY

Spring Gold Glitter Decoration!

Spring is almost here so I decided to get a little decorative! This is a very simple diy project and only requires one night to put together. My friends and I couldn’t stop looking at it because it was so sparkly with gold glitter! This Spring sign is from Target. However since it does not appear on Target’s website I have linked a similar cut out word that is just as cute and says Love. You will need the following supplies.

Supplies:

Note: this post contains affiliate links. This means that I may receive a small commission (at no cost to you) if you subscribe or purchase something through the links provided. You will never see me post a link to a product or service that i don’t use myself or truly love!

Spring Word Cut Out Decoration

Step One

The first step is to color or prime the entire sign with gold sharpie. I did this because I did not want to be able to see the green underneath the glitter. The second time around I would definitely use gold spray paint instead because it was hard to get in between the nooks and holes with the gold sharpie where the gold spray paint would easily cover.

Step Two

After priming the entire sign with gold sharpie or gold spray paint, you will want to use Mod Podge as an adhesive for the glitter. I find that Mod Podge helps most of the glitter stick to the sign and precents a lot of it falling off. I used an old makeup brush to put the Mod Podge on the sign.

Step Three

Before I started to gold glitter my sign, I put the sign on a big plate so that I would not get it all over my counter tops and it would be easier to clean up afterwards. This really helped contain the gold glitter to my work area. Next, I poured gold glitter over the entire front and let it dry for about twenty minutes. Then I repeated step two with the other three sides allowing it to dry in between glittering each side. TIP: You will want to shake off the excess and reapply Mod Podge in areas that are not fully covered in gold glitter.

 Finished!

This project cost around $12.58. This is an awesome deal compared to similar signs at Francesca’s that are not as sparkly and are sold for nearly $16 full price as shown here.

Leave in the comments below what word you would cover in glitter and why!
