Healthy Food Swaps for Ice cream
I tell you it’s really tempting to dive into ice cream for dinner everyday for me so I have figured out some healthy food swaps that will allow me to be healthier when I am craving something cold and sweet. Here’s my favorite list of treats!
Frozen Mango and Pineapple
I loved these two paired together! Frozen Mango and pineapple will be one of my favorite snacks for the rest of my life. I like the frozen mango by itself even too! I can not believe I had not tried it sooner. Look how the yellow colors pop!
Frozen Blueberries and Strawberries
Frozen plain Blueberries are delicious! They taste amazing and I love how small they are. Also, its nice to have frozen blueberries to food swap cravings such as blueberry muffins! I was not a fan of the frozen strawberries as much as I have enjoyed the mango, pineapple, and blueberries, however I may try some different brands. One problem I thought of was that the Strawberries may have not had enough natural sugar in them to make them taste sweet.
Frozen Bananas Ice Cream
This will really amaze you on how similar this is to ice cream! The texture alone is shocking and the taste is on point. You can also flavor it with flavors like peppermint. To make this follow the directions below:
You will need:
1 banana per cup of ice cream
How to make Banana Ice Cream:
- Peel the bananas
- Cut the bananas up
- Place the pieces into a bowl and leave in the freezer for 3 hours
- Take frozen banana pieces and put them into a blender
- Mix until the bananas have an ice cream texture
