It’s always super hard to remember to clean your makeup brushes but its also very important! The first reason you should clean your brushes is that it expands their longevity. Makeup brushes can be expensive so it’s nice if you can make them last longer. The second reason is that it is bad for your skin if you keep using brushes that have caked on make up with dead skin cells on the bristles that can clog pores. I’m really bad at remembering to clean my brushes so it helps to have a posted note on my mirror! They say it takes about 28 days to make a habit so once you’ve trained yourself to clean your brushes you can take the post it note down.
Sephora Citrus Brush Cleaner
I like this daily spray to use with my brushes to prevent my brushes from having a gunky build up by the end of the week. This product by Sephora has a subtle Citrus scent and leaves my brushes smelling great which I really enjoy since they are used around my face. This product contains an anti-bacterial formula to keep your brushes very fresh. To use this product all you have to do is spray one or two sprites onto your used brush and then take a cloth or tissue and wipe off the excess makeup. I still suggest and highly recommend that you do a deep clean of your brushes at the end of the week. You can purchase this Citrus Brush Cleaner from Amazon.
Sephora Makeup Brush Shampoo
I purchased this Sephora makeup brush shampoo a while back and its very easy to use. This Sephora product is also purifying with an antibacterial formula to keep your brushes on point. If you have ever cleaned art brushes, it is a very similar process to clean makeup brushes. Start off with a few drops of soap in your hand and wet your brush. Start to lather your brush in your palm. Next, Squeeze the water out of the brush and make sure to shape the brush similar to how it was shaped when you purchased it with a nice tip. Repeat until you have gotten all of the makeup out of your brush and the water is running clear. You can buy some of Sephora’s Makeup Brush Shampoo from Amazon.
bareMinerals Brush Conditioning Shampoo
This is another makeup brush shampoo that I use and like. It helps to keep my brushes feeling very soft. However, if you do not have makeup brush shampoo you can use soap that is safe for your face (especially if you have sensitive skin). As mentioned before to use this product start to lather your brush in your palm. Squeeze the soap and water out of your brush and repeat this process until your brush is free of makeup. How often do you clean your makeup brushes!? And how will you start to remember to clean them if you have been bad about it?
Sephora is a French company that started in 1969 and continues to grow rapidly spanning across 33 countries with over 2,300 stores. They carry upwards of 300 brands including their own which I have tried and thouroughly enjoy. Sephora carries beauty products, makeup, skincare, nail care, fragrances, hairstyle and body care products.
You receive Sephora Rouge after spending $1,000 for that year. I received the above red box with a gift for becoming a VIB Rouge Member. The NARS blush that I got is a lovely shade that matches with practically any makeup look!
VIB Rouge 2016 Gift
They also kindly gave a gift. For 2016 it was NARS Blush. You can read my review on it in this post!

“Smokey Eye” by Sephora Makeup Artist Margam Abbood
Not being a professional makeup artist with years of experience, it’s nice to be able to look great on my blog and instagram with the help of Sephora professionals ! I’m learning more everyday on how to do perfect makeup. I use to walk into Sephora and when I asked for help I would be able to get good color suggestions. Now when I go into Sephora and get my makeup done, not only are the products good colors for me but I am introduced to an entire look with products that work well together. I also learn how to apply them professionally. I have heard that they do not give a gift every year for becoming VIB Rouge which seems a little strange to me, but you still get a birthday gift with a purchase (unfortunately you have to buy something). Overall I think it’s super worth it to spend the money to get to VIB Rouge status if you are interested in makeup or have a lot of special events coming up within the year. Going about 8-9 times for makeovers, you will end up getting your money’s worth.

Have you ever wondered the difference between mascaras and which one is best for the look you want to achieve or which has the most benefits? It’s hard to test them all out in the store because along with eyeliner it’s the hardest makeup to remove. You may have gone along with a suggestion from a beauty consultant and tried one mascara on your left eye and another on your right, then chose between the two. Is there really that big of a difference between mascaras other than packaging and their specially designed brushes? There is actually a lot to consider!! I’m here today writing to tell you the specific differences between some of the top mascaras. The main

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara & Smashbox Photo Finish Lash Primer
What I think about it?
I really enjoyed this mascara duo. I randomly picked a mascara to try with the primer. I’m not fully convinced that you need eyelash primer, but for some people with light lashes I could see that it would help.
Bobbi Brown : Sephora, Smashbox Photo Finish Lash Primer
You can purchase a .30 oz tube for $22 at Sephora.
Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara
What I think about it?
The purpose of this amazing mascara to is to achieve high volume, dramatic, and fuller intense black lashes. It’s perfect for the weekends or special events! The only con I could find with this mascara is that it flaked off onto my cheek as you can see in the below photos. This is not a major issue and can be solved by wiping the spots with a dry Q-tip
It comes in a .27oz tube for $24 or .17oz for $12 from Sephora.
What I think about it?
This was my second favorite out of this mascara review because of it’s fine tooth comb! The brush grabs your eye ashes and makes it feel as if you were brushing your hair with a comb while separating your lashes perfectly. I love the formula as it made my lashes look more full.
NARS was a little thicker than Bumox and they’re real by benefit, however this would not be my first choice for going out on the weekend or special events. I noticed halfway throughout the day that NARS Mascara was starting to flake off and my eyelashes felt very dry. This mascara would be great to go shopping in or casually hanging out around the house.
This mascara blows me away with how good it smells! It has a subtle hint of perfume essence to it. That alone really makes it stand out to me. I love to put my Chanel primer on that smells amazing and then the YSL babydoll. It’s very therapeutic and spa like. I also love the consistency and color of the formula.
You can grab Bumox in a .37 oz container for $20 at Sephora .
Urban Decay Perversion
What I think about it?
Urban Decay’s Mascara Perversion made my eyelashes look longer and fuller in a dark black shade. The brush did a great job of separating my lashes. It takes a little bit of time to dry so you should be careful to not touch your eyelashes that could cause possible smudging, I feel that this helps in eliminating any possible flaking. The best part of this product is it’s ingredients that help eyelash growth.
Hairdensly: is a complex blend of proteins and amino acids that help to stimulate lash growth
Sea Idrolized Elastine: helps to stimulate hair follicle for lash health
Urban Decay’s Perversion can be purchased in .13oz tube for $10 and also .04oz for $22 from the following link at Sephora.
THE ESTÉE EDIT – The Edgiest Up & Out Double Mascara
What I think about it?
Out of all of the mascaras I reviewed this one has my full attention and recommendation! It gave my lashes some serious volume and length compared to all the others. This mascara come with double sided with two different brushes! The bristle brush creates volume, while the molded brush helps lift lashes for 13 hour wear time. It is water proof and smudge proof.
My favorite thing about this mascara is the brush! It’s a fine toothed brush that really grabs your eyelashes and makes it feel comparable to brushing you hair with a comb. It does a great job on lengthening and separating lashes.
Eye drops help to keep your mascara moisturized which protects it from drying up. It truly brings your mascara tube back to life. My favorite part of using this nifty trick is that it helps to get every last drop of product out! Well I lied, the actual best part is that it is already safe for your eyes!
Leave in the comments below which one of these mascaras is your favorite and why!
